My name is Peter Anderson(-Black), welcome to my latest WEB Site. This is where I tell my story, or some of it. From here, you can read all about me. All the things you may have already known, together with some things you perhaps didn't know. The stories are 'Life Based', and span my day, my career, and my journey with Multiple Sclerosis.
This page is one of the recently found, older pages, that I used to spend time on. The pages contain a number of ‘Coding Techniques’ and a wide range of some of the weird and wonderful topics that run through my head. Sadly, this page seems to have fallen off the edge and disappeared. Will return when my own new domain goes live.
This is the place where I tell my story, or more correctly, another chapter. All going well, I should have my own commercial hosting all sorted in the next few weeks. This will also see some new designs and new functions.
One of my all time favourite era's includes an eclectic range of music and brings back vivid memories from when I was fourteen years old and beyond.
I often have crazy ideas about what to put on the web, here, or at any other place; I try them and test them against my expectations, or needs, then sometimes blog about it, keep it, and use it.

I have a number of initiatives going on at any given time. I have many of them on the WEB, some for many years (20+ yrs). Many of them were documented and clearly outlined and stored somewhere around the globe on somebody’s hardware.
I am currently trialing a program called DROPBOX. Once configured it is basically a 'virtual' box for all of your 'stuff'. You are able to create folders and then store any kind of data, it is then sychronised automatically, or shared by others at the folder level.
Weekly Word: During my daily lucubration, I discovered this word.
Victorian Eateries. A brilliant web site introduces Cutler & Co. Somehow connnected, a Beautiful WEB Site..
Into the Abyss
I thought the other day, about how old I am. In spite of all the challenges associated with very poor vision (legally blind), and mobility (Full time user of electric wheelchair), I rarely feel my age. I am almost sure that there are times when I do not act it.
I rarely get out these days although I can if I want or need to, and can afford to. The things I used to do and places I used to go are very different to today. So I thought I would take some time (I have plenty), and document a whole heap of memories in no particular order.
Some times, places or people, just stick in your memory. Often for no particular, or identifiable reason. Whereas, some memories are caused by a valuable lesson, or a productive or enjoyable experience.
When working I have always, or usually, introduced myself to others, leading with my ‘Business Hat’ on, it depended and still depends on the audience. “Clearly you need to tailor your approach, and the language or industry specific jargon you use”.These days are different.
e.g. There is no point in launching into an entire, perhaps animated speech on the benefits of using ipSEC or CSS when the person or people you are talking with are more experienced with 'footy', beer and Holden cars.
Attention I.E. Users! Internet Explorer does not layout this page correctly. While I am working on resolving this, I recommend trying any of the following which all work. Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Seamonkey, Flock (which is an Explorer 'compatible'), or Google Chrome. All of these conform to the W3C standards, and Microsoft is still catching up.
The following collection of memories are based primarily on my business day. I have attempted to refrain from using jargon unless it is relevant and necessary.
I have added a part of history to my OnSugar blog (second top at right). Some of these links go to pages from some years ago.
For those readers that wish to know more. I have worked with: → ibm pc1→ps/2, sna, ibm 5250,ibm 3270, Unix, Asynch, Compaq, ibm. Hewlett Packard, tcp/ip, ipSEC, ...
During my time in the I.T. industry, I have been in many facets of the business. Sales, Technical Support, Retail Store Management, Corporate Sales, Government ("Public Sector") Sales, Technical Sales/Consulting specialising in Local Area Networks, Wide Area Networks, Security Consulting, Office Automation, Public Key Infrastructure, software specialist,...
This web site outlines a number of treasured memories that span my time in the industry.
I need to find somewhere to keep these pages (no doubt there are others), rather than let them slip into a self generated 'black hole'.
When on the Internet I often do a new search for topics of interest. One of the most common searchs is for more, or new information on my Great Uncle, Major Percy Black. When I was a young teenager, I remember my mother mentioning something about one of her uncles being a World War I participant, and being some what a hero. I figured that anyone who enlisted and saw active duty was a hero!. I knew that he fought at Gallipoli, and in France, and that was enough to be classified as a hero in my eyes.
Since my late thirties I have tried to learn as much as I could about the truth about what could have been embellished stories from past generations. I quickly found out all the family stories about there being a war hero in the family were in fact understated. A recent, and what is a regular, periodic search uncovered some new material. Here is just some of what is out there:
Some of what is on the internet that is either about Percy, or references Percy.
